Senior Accountant - Hybrid Remote

A well-established organization in Delaware County is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a hands-on role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting leadership decision-making, and partnering closely with the Controller on core accounting operations. • Oversee day-to-day accounting activity, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP
• Perform daily cash reconciliations for assigned accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain and reconcile a broad range of balance sheet accounts, including AP, AR, payroll-related accounts, and other operational funds
• Prepare monthly and year-end schedules, reconciliations, and supporting work papers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Document and process budget revisions and financial adjustments as needed
• Prepare and post drawdown and inter-account transfer entries
• Support the Controller throughout the annual audit by preparing schedules, researching variances, and assisting with financial statement support
• Assist with annual budget development and ongoing budget monitoring
• Serve as backup support for Accounts Payable, including weekly check processing
• Maintain accurate ACH and vendor payment information
• Compile and submit required regulatory and compliance reports
• Participate regularly in on-site finance meetings and departmental collaboration
• Take on additional accounting and reporting responsibilities as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 3+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant
• Background in higher education is a plus
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial data
• High attention to detail with a proven ability to reconcile complex accounts accurately
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems;
