Special Services Tax Auditor

• Serve as the team lead and subject‑matter expert, coordinating workflow and mentoring team members
• Conduct complex audits of individual and corporate income tax to ensure compliance with Arizona tax law
• Collect and analyze data, plan and organize audit procedures while preparing detailed reports of findings
• Research difficult issues and resolve taxpayer appeals, explaining audit adjustments to taxpayers
• Attend and represent the department at informal and formal hearings, conducting field audit work as needed

• A relevant degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three (3) years related experience as an Auditor, or a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting with two (2) years’ experience as an Auditor
• Advanced knowledge of individual and corporate income tax policies and applicable federal and state tax laws
• Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and active listening
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax reporting/accounting systems
• Ability to clear a comprehensive background and clearance process, including Arizona tax compliance verification

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or closely related field
• Experience with Continuous Improvement or LEAN methodologies
• Possession of certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Previous team lead experience
• Familiarity with audit processes and tax compliance regulations
