We are an Eastside‑based CPA firm seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support multiple clients across a wide range of industries. In this role, you will act as the internal accounting function for assigned companies, working directly with business owners and collaborating closely with our firm’s partners.

AboutThe Role
As an Assistant Controller, you will oversee full accounting operations for various clients, including financial reporting, compliance, and month‑end close activities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accuracy, maintaining strong internal controls, and delivering timely, insightful financial information to help clients make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end‑to‑end accounting operations for multiple clients
- Own the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements
- Handle payroll, excise tax, and federal/state/local filings
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance - Provide financial analysis and support for client leadership teams
- Provide insight, assist in resolving issues and helping clients make informed decisions.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and firm procedures
- Collaborate with firm partners to support client engagements and strategic initiatives
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices across client accounts
- Extensive experience with Quick Books (required)
- Proficiency with monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory filings
- Experience with payroll, excise taxes, and federal/state/local reporting
- Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize effectively
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts clearly
- Self‑motivated, organized, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
