Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic team in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. This is a Contract to permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing organization within the transportation equipment manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will excel in detailed financial tasks and have the ability to analyze and improve processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in billing and payments.

Responsibilities:

- Process and code invoices accurately, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

- Conduct detailed analysis to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.

- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to research and address account issues.

- Utilize AS 400 and Sage Intacct systems to manage accounting tasks and reporting.

- Assist in the transition to new software systems, including Gravitate, to enhance operational efficiency.

- Perform data analysis and refine processes to improve workflow and accuracy.

- Prepare and execute check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments.

- Contribute to side projects focused on optimizing billing and payment procedures.

- Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all accounts payable tasks.

- Support a team environment with a commitment to collaboration and excellence. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment execution.

- Proficiency in Sage Intacct and AS 400 systems, with the ability to adapt to new software tools.

- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve billing and account discrepancies efficiently.

- Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check run procedures.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams to resolve issues.

- Experience in improving and refining operational processes within accounting functions.

- Comfortable working in a flexible environment with occasional remote work opportunities.
