ABOUTTHE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Bookkeeping Specialist to fully own the Accounts Receivable function in Quick Books, with a strong focus on deduction management and recovery for food distributors such as KeHE, UNFI, and Amazon.
This role includes hands‑on bookkeeping as well as analytical and follow‑up work. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, managing complexity, and driving issues to resolution without constant supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Full ownership of Accounts Receivable in Quick Books Desktop / Enterprise
- Enter, apply, and reconcile customer payments accurately
- Post, track, and reconcile deductions, credits, and short payments
- Manage and reconcile distributor and Amazon A/R transactions
- Research and resolve payments received without remittance
- Decode, analyze, and dispute deductions (shortage, pricing, compliance, promotions, damage, etc.)
- Maintain clean A/R aging, customer ledgers, and supporting documentation
- Reconcile distributor statements and investigate discrepancies
- Follow up persistently with distributor and Amazon A/P teams until resolution
- Track deduction recovery progress and ensure proper documentation
- Record recovered funds, credits, and approved write‑offs correctly in Quick Books
- Provide visibility into open deductions, aging, and A/R exposure when requested
- Proven A/R experience in food or CPG businesses
- Hands‑on experience managing KeHE, UNFI, and Amazon A/R
- Strong deduction research, dispute, and recovery background
- Experience handling payments without remittance
- Advanced proficiency in Quick Books Desktop / Enterprise
- Extremely self‑organized and able to work independently
- Comfortable performing day‑to‑day bookkeeping, not just analysis
- Part‑time, ongoing engagement
- Fully remote
- 1099 independent contractor
- Flexible hours with consistent weekly availability
- Competitive hourly rate or monthly retainer based on experience
