We are seeking a Technical Accounting Lead to support a high-performing accounting team during a period of heavy project activity. This role will provide technical accounting expertise, oversee general ledger activities, support system integration testing, and collaborate closely with IT and offshore shared services teams.

This is not a formal people management role but does include oversight and approval responsibility for work performed by an offshore Global Shared Services team.

• Prepare and approve complex journal entries in Oracle Fusion General Ledger
• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations (Black Line preferred)
• Support accounting project initiatives in partnership with IT
• Assist with mapping and coding source system data into the general ledger
• Perform testing and validation of financial data integrations
• Run and analyze ad hoc queries involving large data sets
• Complete analytics for assigned balance sheet accounts and document key business drivers
• Compile and analyze receivables data
• Investigate and resolve balance sheet variances in collaboration with IT
• Support ongoing general ledger and accounting operations
• Review and approve work performed by offshore accounting teams
• Compile documentation and support external and internal audit requirements
• Maintain strong internal controls and process documentation
• Complete ad hoc accounting projects as assigned

• ERP:
  Oracle Fusion (required)
• Other ERP experience (SAP, Workday, etc.) considered
• Black Line (reconciliation tool preferred)
• Advanced Excel required
• Heavy data and query environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• 5+ years of insurance accounting experience (Property & Casualty preferred; Health or Life considered)
• Strong hands‑on general ledger experience (journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis)
• Oracle Fusion experience required
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with large data sets and financial integrations
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Experience collaborating with offshore or shared services teams

• Experience with cloud‑based general ledger systems
• Experience working with third‑party MGA/TPA data
• Familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, or international accounting standards
• Experience supporting audit requests (internal and external)
• Fully remote
• Hybrid option available in Madison, WI (2–3 days onsite optional)
• Regular coordination with offshore teams in Manila (morning availability before 11 AM local time required when collaborating live)
• Cross‑functional collaboration with IT and accounting teams across multiple time zones

• A detail‑oriented, technically strong accounting professional
• Someone comfortable in a systems‑heavy, project‑driven environment
• A proactive communicator who works effectively cross‑functionally
• A professional comfortable reviewing offshore work without direct reports
• An individual open to a 12‑month contract engagement
