Staff Accountant

Position Preview

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records and provide support to the Accounting Department as needed. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

• Deposit client payments via remote banking, enter banking transactions, and perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare month end journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Process monthly sales tax returns for various states.
• Process annual 1099s.
• Receive, verify, and enter vendor invoices into accounting system.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs.
• Process employee expense reimbursements.
• Process American Express and Chase Visa credit card transactions.
• Process payroll in ADP Workforce Now.
• Manage onboarding of new employees and ensure employee files are accurate and complete.
• Serve as backup for Accounting Associate.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Three to five years of accounting experience.
• Previous experience in the interior design industry a plus.
• Experience with Design Manager a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
