Certified Payroll Staff Accountant

We are partnering with a growing company seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support full‑cycle accounting operations and assist the Controller with daily and month‑end responsibilities. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule, allowing you to work from home up to 3 days per week while contributing to a small, collaborative accounting team.

A major portion of this role—approximately 60%—will involve managing certified payroll for 30–35 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

• Perform full-cycle accounting duties including month‑end close activities, journal entries, and reconciliation of credit card receipts.
• Process and track insurance bills.
• Support and collaborate closely with the team, assisting with accounting tasks that require follow‑through and attention to detail.
• Manage certified payroll activities, which comprise approximately 60% of the role.
• Coordinate payroll data with Paylocity, an external payroll provider.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and payroll regulations.
• Utilize accounting systems and tools efficiently to support reporting and operational needs.

• Proficiency in full‑cycle accounting, general ledger, month‑end procedures, and certified payroll.
• Experience with ERP and payroll systems.
• Familiarity with robust accounting systems such as Oracle or Net Suite.
• Working knowledge of Excel for efficient data handling.

• Experience with Unanet and Viewpoint is a plus.
• Quick Books experience alone is not sufficient; familiarity with more robust systems is preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
