About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in tax and accounting, with a strong background in preparing and reviewing business and nonprofit tax returns, including but not limited to 1120S, 1120, 1065 Partnerships, and 990. This role requires strong attention to detail and accuracy, as well as the ability to lead and mentor others.
As a Tax Accountant at Magnolia Tax Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring our clients receive high-quality tax services while also contributing to the development of our team and maintaining our commitment to impactful results.
- Tax Preparation and Review: Prepare and review business and nonprofit tax returns, including but not limited to 1120S, 1120, 1065 Partnerships, and 990, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear and effective communication regarding tax matters, strategies, and planning.
- Software Utilization: Experience in Drake Tax Software is a plus but not required.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the tax preparation workflow to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Compliance Management: Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure all tax filings comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Hybrid Work Environment: Demonstrate adaptability and self-motivation in a hybrid work setting, balancing remote work with on-site collaboration as needed. Some travel may be required.
- Event Participation: Attend company events as required, contributing to the collaborative culture and engagement of Magnolia Tax Services.
- Experience: More than 5 years of experience in tax and accounting, with a focus on preparing and reviewing business and nonprofit tax returns, including but not limited to 1120S, 1120, 1065 Partnerships, and 990.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in Drake Tax Software is a plus, but not required. - Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail in all aspects of tax preparation and review.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Values Alignment: Demonstrated commitment to personal development, discipline, and achieving impactful results, in line with our RIPE values.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, with the ability to manage time effectively and self-motivate in a remote setting.
- Certification: EA or CPA license is a plus but not required.
