We are seeking a Senior Accountant, Revenue to join our team. This role will primarily own or support activities within the R&D and commercial revenue processes in a growing fully integrated biotech company with expanding commercial operations. The position will report to the Assistant Director of Accounting, Revenue and be onsite at our Carlsbad office 3 days a week. Responsibilities include technical accounting research as needed, supporting compliance with internal controls / SOX 404, and supporting management on key accounting initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have public accounting experience and/or experience at a public biotech or life science company with strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606. The candidate must be able to perform under tight deadlines in a structured corporate environment, working independently with minimal oversight. This role operates in a SOX-compliant environment and contributes to accurate financial reporting and effective controls over revenue-related processes.

Experience in a SOX environment through public accounting or in a public company is required. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities, are essential.

• Prepare journal entries and maintain revenue schedules related to R&D and collaboration revenue.
• Prepare and issue R&D, collaboration, and commercial invoices in accordance with contractual terms.
• Manage and monitor collaboration and commercial accounts receivable.
• Stay current on revenue accounting guidance; perform research and analysis on current, new or pending guidance as needed.
• Own month-end and quarter-end close activities including account reconciliations related to revenue and accounts receivable.
• Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting.
• Support compliance with internal controls and SOX 404 requirements.
• Prepare audit deliverables and interact with internal and external auditors.
• Drive improvements to revenue systems and processes.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
• 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with public accounting (Big 4 or other global firm) and/or experience at a public biotech or life sciences company.
• Strong understanding of ASC 606, US GAAP and SOX controls.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with systems such as SAP, Blackline, or similar.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail is critical.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work well across departments.
• Goal oriented and self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The pay scale for this position is $79,364 to $110,529.
