Job Overview:As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and internal controls. You’ll collaborate closely with operations, payroll, tax, and leadership to ensure accurate financial records, timely month‑end close, and financial insight that supports strategic decision‑making.
This role requires strong accounting expertise, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced operational environment with complex billing and cost structures unique to portable sanitation services.
Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Close
- Lead the month‑end and quarter‑end close process.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger oversight.
- Review and analyze financial results, trends, and variances.
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow).
- Prepare/facilitate annual budgeting process, quarterly reforecasts, and long‑term projections.
- Partner with operations and leadership to align financial goals with business strategy.
- Ensure accurate A/R and A/P reporting, aging analysis, and collections support.
- Partner with operations on billing accuracy and revenue recognition, especially for service contracts and seasonal fluctuations.
- Maintain and enhance robust accounting policies and procedures.
- Support internal audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose systems/process improvements.
- Support implementation of accounting systems, automation, and best practices.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors (sales/use tax, payroll tax, state registrations).
- Assist with tax provision support and compliance filings.
- Work closely with operations, HR/payroll, and leadership to provide financial insight and support key business initiatives.
- Create KPI’s and dashboards that will be helpful to operational leaders.
- Ability to mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Foster a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.

Qualifications:Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience with multi‑state operations and complex billing environments.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Quick Books Enterprise, Sage Intacct, Oracle Net Suite, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- CPA or advanced credentials.
- Big 4 accounting firm experience.
- Experience in service industries with seasonal demand (construction, rentals, logistics, etc.).
- Familiarity with job costing, fixed asset accounting, and inter‑company accounting.
Reports To: Accounting Executive/CFO
Job Type: Full‑Time
Salary Range:- $72,000 – $105,000 per year, depending on experience and credentials.
