Location: Milford
The Staff Accountant 2 performs intermediate-level accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciliations, fixed asset management, and project accounting support. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data while contributing to internal reporting, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This job requires working in the office three days per week during the first ninety days of employment. After this period, hybrid options may be discussed.
Essential Functions General Ledger & Month-End Close- Prepare standard journal entries and reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts.
- Review coding and classification weekly to ensure proper AP entry.
- Support Staff Accountant 1 with accruals.
- Record biweekly payroll and allocate benefits; coordinate with HR to ensure timely HSA deposits.
- Own fixed assets, record monthly depreciation, and maintain PPE roll forward schedules.
- Support the Project Manager with SCIP project budget vs. actual tracking, including expense, labor, and contractor costs.
- Prepare AR invoices for shipments of cathode, concentrate, and scrap.
- Assist with weekly and monthly internal reporting.
- Provide financial data and analysis as needed.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical DemandsThis is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkFull-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Potential for hybrid work.
TravelOccasional travel between local mine properties may be expected for this position.

Requirements RequiredEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
