Position SummaryExecute the delivery of a wide variety of accounting tasks and services in the cashiering/accounts receivable department. Maintain and enhance the Accounts Receivable system for the campus. Office operations require adherence to generally accepted accounting principles as well as UNMC policies and procedures to ensure the accounting database is accurate, complete, and able to withstand considerable audit tests.
This position has extensive internal and external customer contacts requiring highly developed interpersonal skills for delivering professional accounting services across a broad spectrum of the organization.
Required Qualifications- Required
Education:
Accounting, Finance or related field. (Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience) - Required Experience:
2 years related professional accounting experience. (Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience) - Required Computer Applications:
Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word. - Required Additional
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Analytical skills for problem solving
- Attention to detail, ability to review work, detect and correct errors
- Communication (written & oral) to work with a wide array of internal and external customers
- Ability to interpret UNMC policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles and apply understanding to resolving various accounting issues and problems
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects on time while maintaining high quality standards
- Preferred Education:
None - Preferred Experience:
Experience at a public accounting firm and knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and GASB standards. - Preferred License:
Licensed Certified Public Accountant. - Preferred Computer Applications:
Microsoft PowerPoint, SAP, Microsoft Outlook. - Preferred Additional
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Cashiering and Accounts Receivable applications.
