Job Responsibilities
Entarian is seeking an Accounting Manager to join as a key member of its growing accounting and finance team. The Accounting Manager will provide professional guidance and support across day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This role involves preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), preparing account reconciliations, maintaining accuracy and completeness of accounting data, and delivering financial results to management.
This position will report to the Controller and work closely with the CFO and other key members of the company to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, FAR, CAS and other relevant regulations and frameworks.
This position represents an opportunity for candidates to employ a wide range of accounting skills in a high-growth, private equity sponsored context. This is a hybrid position with an expectation to commute to Entarian’s office in Tysons Corner on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
- Maintain the corporate consolidation model for financial reporting
- Support and coordinate the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulatory requirements
- Help maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests
- Coordinate with third party tax preparers to support the preparation of the annual tax returns
- Assist with the application of technical accounting topics, such as revenue recognition, leases, purchase accounting, and equity compensation and develop any internal documentation as appropriate
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and process automation initiatives
- Participate in any diligence and integration planning and execution for acquisition opportunities
- Liaise with accounting advisory firms, sponsor accounting and tax groups and other key external stakeholders in normal course
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed
This is a hybrid position. Candidates are expected to have the ability to work from home and commute 1-3 days per week to Entarian's Tysons Corner office. Occasional commutes to Entarian's Greenbelt, MD office will be required. Occasional domestic travel for conferences, M&A opportunities, etc. will be possible but not required.
The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $140,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree / MBA preferred)
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in public accounting audit or similar roles
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and financial reporting requirements
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on analytics and skeptical mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in government contracting (either in public accounting or industry) strongly preferred
- Experience with Unanet Gov Con ERP strongly preferred
