Position Overview:
Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee transactions and payroll, accounting, compliance, and daily business operations. Reporting to the CEO, you will ensure accurate and timely accounting processes. This role is ideal for someone comfortable leading the department and performing a wide range of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and controls.
• Produce monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Design and improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls across the organization.
• Manage local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, supporting external accountants through the income tax filing process.
• Support general administrative responsibilities as needed.
• Build and scale accounting processes as the company grows.
• Participate in ad-hoc strategic projects, providing analysis and financial insight.
• Mentor and train as you help build an accounting practice.
• Manage treasury and accounts payable.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• 2+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant or equivalent.
• Ability to simplify complex concepts and foster an environment of rapid execution, learning, and fun.
• Entrepreneurial and resourceful mindset.
• Strong self-review skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence in communicating ideas, potential blockers, and important items to colleagues, including the CEO.
• Ability to switch contexts rapidly, working across different industries and growth challenges.
• Professional commitment to this role exclusively.
• Team player who can collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at varying levels of knowledge.
• Experience working in a remote position.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

Logistics

• Location and Time Commitment:
  This is a fully remote role based in Mexico. You can work wherever you’re most productive. Full-time commitment is required, with work hours overlapping US Eastern Time for most of the workday. Occasionally, meetings may occur outside these hours.

Required Set-Up:

• A professional work environment with a home computer, dual monitors, and strong internet connection is required.
