About The Position
The Accounting Technician II will provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of invoices under their control. They will also perform accounting tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
Responsibilities- Enter and process invoices in People Soft, checking for proper authorizations and coding.
- Enter new or update vendor names and data, monitor discount opportunities, schedule payments, process stop‑payments, and resolve payment issues.
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements; research and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond accurately and professionally to vendors regarding inquiries and concerns such as supporting documentation and payment status.
- File source documents and maintain accounts payable files.
- Assist with audit support by providing documentation to auditors and responding to inquiries.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
Requires two years accounting/bookkeeping experience or one year experience as an Accounting Technician I, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Desired Qualifications- 2–3 years of performing a variety of Accounts Payable functions.
- People Soft experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures to work duties.
- Accounting experience in a governmental environment and understanding of government infrastructure.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team player with proactive problem‑solving skills and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Hybrid schedule – work from home and office; 9/80 or 4/10 scheduling options available.
Salary$33.72 – $39.18 hourly.
