We are looking for a tax supervisor interested in fostering client relationships and developing a long-term career where you are the primary contact for a group of clients. The firm is open to considering a seasoned senior tax associate or a tax manager for this new position.
ResponsibilitiesImmediate responsibilities include:
- Prompt responses to clients with questions about tax, accounting, and payroll
- Scan and organize tax return supporting work papers
- Prepare individual, partnership, and S corporation tax returns
- Review tax return preparation by interns or entry-level staff
- Client follow-up for missing items
- Self-review for technical accuracy
- Assist with year-end tax planning
- Accurately track and record time spent on projects
- Assist with preparation of W-2s and 1099s
- Review bookkeeping
- Assist with bookkeeping and payroll onboarding for new clients
- Perform advanced bookkeeping and payroll functions when needed
- Administrative tasks as assigned
Responsibilities as you grow into this role:
- Meet clients to discuss their tax information at the beginning of tax season
- Meet with clients to review their tax returns after they are prepared
- Sign tax returns
- Perform year-end tax planning sessions
Technical Requirements:
- Previous tax return preparation experience required
- Previous client relationship management experience a plus but not required
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA credentials obtained or in process
- Proficient in MS Excel and Word
- Experience with CCH tax products (Prosystems fx or Axcess) preferred but not required
- Experience with Quick Books Online preferred

- Clear communication about workload, capacity, and when tasks will be completed
- Ensure deadlines are met
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Ability to perform work accurately and efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- This is a full-time salaried position, with hour-for-hour comp time for any hours worked over 40 per week during tax season
- Significant hour flexibility allowed as long as deadlines are met. Options include standard M-F 8-5, shift hours to accommodate family schedules, four-day weeks for three-day weekends, or a school-schedule with summers and holidays off
- Partial work-from-home opportunities after an initial training period, with some in-office time required due to client interactions
