- Assist with the preparation of reconciliations and other accounting‑related functions.
- Pull reports and perform balancing activities for transaction policy details to aid in GL account reconciliations, tax filings, or other functions.
- Compile, validate, and distribute reports; analyze audit report data to identify issues, gaps, or trends.
- Assist with review, quality‑assurance testing, and compliance documentation related to accounting processes.
- Gather and analyze business data and process data to initiate, develop, and recommend best practices and procedures.
- Learn the Continuous Improvement Methodology and perform virtual sit‑alongs with team members, lead team huddles, validate and edit standard processes and job aids, and implement process improvements via root‑cause problem solving.
- Other miscellaneous responsibilities and projects as assigned.
- Work collaboratively within the team and across the department.
- Pursuing an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field; able to work around class schedule.
- Strong passion for accounting, math, data analysis, and problem‑solving.
- Consistent track record of strong academic performance.
- Excellent critical‑thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Curiosity and a desire to continuously learn.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting, either military or civilian.
- Exposure to accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, or Financial Reporting through coursework, internships, or part‑time roles.
- Interest in using data, automation, or AI tools (e.g., Excel, reporting tools, Copilot) to improve processes and efficiency.
- Familiarity with accounting systems or financial tools.
This position does not have supervisory duties.
CompensationAs an apprentice, you will work 20–30 hours per week at a rate of $22 per hour.
