A well qualified applicant will be paid a salary of $275,000 Applicant must be able to manage on a daily basis an income tax preparation tax technician who does the grunt work on the preparation of many tax returns for a privately owned multi-company operation that has been in business for over 56 years in the development, acquisition and management of portfolio owned properties in multiple states.
An out-of-house CPA firm reviews and signs all tax returns. The desired candidate should function with minimal supervision, has sense of urgency, communicates well verbally and in writing and has exceptional attention to detail. We offer an excellent salary $275,000 with benefit options including medical, dental, optical, paid vacations, 9 paid holidays, and 401(k) plan with company match. This job is located in Las Vegas, NV.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Reviews a broad range of individual, corporate, trust and other entity tax returns
• Prepares, estimates and reviews tax returns as needed, including those with a high degree of complexity
• Supervises and mentors staff to ensure quality standards are met
• Keeps abreast of current trends, issues, laws, and practices in the tax field
• Communicates directly with taxing authorities
• Prepares complex tax planning and projections
• Consults with Owner/President on business and tax related issues Knowledge and
Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a Masters of Accounting a plus
• Holds a current and valid CPA with several years of experience in that capacity
• 15+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting. Prior tax firm ownership a plus
• Experience in review, research and tax planning with an understanding of income tax laws and regulations
• Ability to research and resolve government correspondences and assessments
• Working knowledge of LACERT tax and accounting software and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
