At WG, we’re on a mission to improve the public accounting experience; to create a firm so unique that ambitious professionals will be willing to wait to join us, then stay for a meaningful career.
Our vision is to be known as the Michelin-Star restaurant of public accounting. Exceptional. Thoughtful. Worth the wait.
Our CAS Managers lead the work that brings structure and clarity to growing businesses. They oversee the monthly close process, review financial reporting, and guide a team responsible for maintaining accurate books and dependable financial operations. Working closely with business owners, CAS Managers help turn financial data into insight that supports better decisions. This role blends strong technical accounting expertise with team leadership and meaningful client relationships.
If you believe great accounting is about more than closing the books — it’s about producing reliable data that business owners can actually use — you may feel right at home here.
What you’ll do:- Apply a controller’s mindset to client engagements, ensuring financial statements are accurate, reconciled, and ready for the various recipients of our work — clients, tax preparers, investors, and lenders.
- Move comfortably between cash and accrual (GAAP) accounting, performing conversions, adjustments, and analysis as required by the client’s reporting needs.
- Work with clients on budgeting, cash flow management, and light financial planning.
- Manage a portfolio of 20–30 client engagements, overseeing monthly close, financial statement preparation, and the integrity of the general ledger.
- Demonstrate strong technical proficiency with modern accounting systems and data workflows, efficiently working within platforms such as Quick Books Online and related financial applications to manage and analyze accounting data.
- Provide leadership, management, and accountability (LMA) for a CAS team of 2-3 professionals.
- Manage team resources across engagements to ensure work is completed efficiently while staying within client budgets and service goals.
Education and experience requirements:
- 5+ years in accounting work, public accounting experience a plus
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting and monthly close processes
- Strong understanding of both cash and accrual accounting
- Experience supervising multiple staff members
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (preferred)
- Experience with Excel / Google Sheets
- Experience with Quick Books Online
- Ability to work in a remote environment with modern technology
Our ideal CAS Manager is a thoughtful professional who takes pride in producing accurate financial information and helping businesses operate with confidence.
You are someone who:
- Takes ownership of your work and approaches responsibilities with professionalism and discipline
- Applies critical thinking to accounting issues and looks beyond transactions to understand the story behind the numbers
- Is comfortable leading a team, reviewing work, and guiding others toward higher standards
- Works effectively within modern accounting technology and remains curious about new tools and efficiencies
- Communicates clearly with clients and colleagues, bringing a calm, solutions-oriented presence to complex situations
- Values a collaborative, respectful work environment and contributes positively to the culture of the firm
