Accounting Manager

Spectrum Search Group has been retained by a multi-billion-dollar, privately held distributor in the heavy-duty transportation parts and aftermarket sector. The company is in growth mode following a recent acquisition, and this newly created role is part of that next chapter — a chance to join a lean, high-impact corporate accounting team where you'll own a broad scope rather than a single narrow function.

We're seeking a Manager of Corporate Accounting & Reporting to help drive the close, reporting, and technical accounting functions while developing a small team.

• Manage and execute key aspects of the monthly and quarterly close to ensure accurate, timely results
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules across corporate areas (SG&A, fixed assets, leases, accruals, intangibles)
• Support preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, plus external audit support
• Research and document technical accounting matters, including M&A purchase accounting and related reporting
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and process documentation
• Supervise, coach, and develop senior and staff accountants
• Identify automation and process-improvement opportunities across accounting and reporting

• A versatile accountant comfortable wearing many hats in a lean corporate group (this is not a narrow, single-lane role)
• Strong corporate accounting and monthly/quarterly close experience
• Technical accounting exposure preferred — especially at the upper end of the range
• Public accounting background is a strong plus (not a hard requirement)
• Experience supporting M&A or purchase accounting is a plus
• Proven ability to lead and review the work of other accountants

Location:

DFW area — 4 days in office, work from home on Fridays

Compensation: $140K–$160K base + 10% target bonus
