Tax Accountant

Remote Status
:
Remote with ability to travel to Ann Arbor as needed.

• Assist with preparing and reviewing federal, state, and city tax return compliance using CCH Axcess for multiple entities and states focusing on real estate partnership returns.
• Fixed asset maintenance of the company’s residential, commercial, and corporate assets.
• Preparation of other tax types, including sales and use tax, personal property tax, and other state tax filings.
• Assist with research of technical tax issues related to return preparation, including staying current with tax law changes, through a combination of outside training and individual study.
• Preparation and analysis of current or future transactions as required.
• Preparation of year-end tax projections for entities and internal taxpayers, analyzing projection results for potential issues or planning opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with all tax and accounting team members and management.
• Various other duties and projects as assigned.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and instructions
• 2+ years of relevant tax experience

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting (Required).
• An Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred but not required.

Mostly remote work with a team that values excellent work-life balance. Must be willing to attend periodic meetings as they arise at the corporate office in Ann Arbor, MI.
