Controller, Accounting, Cost Accountant

Fast growing specialty foods company is seeking an experienced Controller to join the team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing cost accounting, project accounting, and inventory management, along with advanced knowledge of Quick Books Enterprise and experience participating in ERP system implementations. This position is, one day onsite/4 days work from home. This position reports to the CFO and will have 2 direct reports.

• Manage cost accounting processes including raw materials, labor, overhead, and production variances
• Monitor inventory valuation, WIP, and finished goods accounting
• Track project costs, capital expenditures, and operational improvement initiatives
• Prepare cost analysis, financial reports, and variance analysis for management
• Support monthly close, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Maintain and optimize Quick Books Enterprise accounting system
• Assist with ERP implementation, system testing, and data migration
• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely delivery of required financial information and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership to improve cost efficiency and profitability

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong cost accounting and inventory experience
• Experience with project accounting or capital project tracking
• Proficiency in Quick Books Enterprise
• Experience supporting ERP implementation or system transitions
• Strong analytical, Excel, and problem-solving skills
