Position Overview:Our client is seeking a seasoned Tax Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our growing team. This role involves complex tax planning, multi-state and international tax work, and collaboration with attorneys on intricate tax strategies. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing client relationships and IRS interactions.
Job Responsibilities:- Prepare and review all types of tax returns, including S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, and individual returns, with a focus on multi-state and international filings.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates.
- Assist with IRS and state agency notices, and handle resolution processes.
- Conduct tax planning, including advising clients on tax credits and optimizing tax strategies.
- Perform tax research and stay updated on current tax laws and regulations.
- Utilize software tools such as Lacerte, CCH Engagement, Quick Books Desktop, and Quick Books Online for tax preparation and accounting tasks.
- Maintain accurate records in a paperless environment, entering data into trial balances and performing journal entries.
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients and team members.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, tax planning, and tax research.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Quick Books Desktop, and Quick Books Online.
- Knowledge of CCH Pro Systems fx Engagement and Lacerte is preferred.
- Experience with IRS procedures, resolution processes, and handling notices and audits.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and follow up with clients effectively.
