Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Senior Accountant (Accountant, Sr.). Senior level accounting position responsible for general ledger reconciliations, general ledger analysis and forecasting, assist with reserve valuations, develops procedures, tests account backup, and special projects as assigned. This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week.
Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
- Responsible for monthly account reconciliations, and analysis
- Responsible for balance sheet trend analysis and reporting
- Monitors assigned accounts for exposure, report concerns to manager
- Researches and corrects account discrepancies
- Tests ledger backup
- Participates in the month-end close
- Assists with transmission and reporting of financials
- Responsible for special projects, as required by management
- Assists with physical inventory and fixed asset audits
- Supports internal and use tax audits of fixed assets
- Assists other department members and managers with projects
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP including experience in and ability to research GAAP and other Authoritative Pronouncements
- Strong Excel skills
- CPA License is required
- Audit Experience with a large Regional and/or International Public Accounting Firm is preferred
- Requires strong initiative. Should be able to bring potential solution options to manager along with issues
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, time management and written skills
In accordance with applicable law, we are providing the anticipated salary range for this role, $76,150 - $114,040.
