A well-established public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Auditor to join its audit practice. This is a great opportunity for a professional looking for meaningful exposure to public audits in a collaborative, team-focused environment without the demands of a large firm. The Auditor will be responsible for managing assigned engagements from planning through wrap-up. This role is based in the Greater Houston area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assigned audit engagements from start to finish under Audit Management direction
  • Identify and communicate audit issues, providing recommended, risk-relevant solutions in a timely manner
  • Ensure audit conclusions are supported by a thorough understanding of processes, risks, and circumstances
  • Develop appropriate audit testing procedures aligned with engagement risks and objectives
  • Obtain, review, and document audit evidence to support findings and conclusions
  • Ensure adherence to applicable professional standards throughout all engagements
  • Supervise and mentor junior auditors, providing guidance and reviewing deliverables
  • Communicate assigned tasks clearly to engagement teams to drive high-quality results
  • Collaborate effectively with clients to minimize disruption while gathering necessary information
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license or actively pursuing CPA exam completion
  • 3+ years of audit experience in a public accounting firm
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of knowledge and application of GAAS
  • Experience with financial statement preparation
