Position: Real Estate Controller - path to CFO!

Our client, a stable and growing commercial real estate company, is hiring a Real Estate Controller to join its collaborative accounting team. This is a hands‑on leadership role with significant visibility and a clear succession path to CFO over the next several years.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes for a portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Lead the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Coordinate annual tenant reconciliations and support property management operations.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and management reporting.
  • Leverage Yardi Voyager to improve reporting and automate processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and strengthen accounting policies and controls.
  • Support acquisitions, development projects, and other strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive real estate accounting experience.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Yardi Voyager
    ; advanced knowledge preferred.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and commercial property accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
