Job Overview

Responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of accurate financial information for assigned areas of the general ledger, performing general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, and preparing financial statements for the Regional Health Ministry and Market Record to Report shared services area. The accountant demonstrates problem‑solving skills in healthcare financial operations and understands external regulatory, payor, and other forces impacting healthcare financial reporting, including US GAAP, IRS regulations, and federal grant audit requirements.

• Establish and maintain relationships with leaders from HM, Service Area, Trinity Health and related entities; respond to information requests and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist manager with internal and external audits, including federal grant audits and RHM‑specific audit requirements.
• Implement audit recommendations in a timely manner.
• Assist in preparation of annual 990, other tax returns, and community benefit reporting.
• Prepare sales and use tax reporting, local personal property tax, escheatment reporting, and mandatory government surveys.
• Complete special projects, financial analysis, and research.
• Prepare monthly accounting entries and support People Soft G/L input for assigned entities.
• Reconcile, analyze, and adjust general ledger accounts according to timelines.
• Ensure detailed support for workpaper reconciliations.
• Assist with year‑end financial reporting package, audit work papers, and footnote disclosures.
• Obtain supporting documentation for audit schedules.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and experience conducting financial analysis and researching accounting issues.

• Fixed‑asset accounting experience.
• Two (2) years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience with computer accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite.

Hourly Pay Range: $24.53 – $36.80.
