Position: Senior Accountant (US EST/EMEA - Remote)

Hospitable is a remote-only, global organization that builds software for short‑term rentals. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of month‑end close work streams and help us achieve a consistent 5‑day close cycle through improved reconciliations, tighter controls, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run close work streams end‑to‑end (multi‑entity)
    • Own month‑end close deliverables for assigned areas/entities: journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and variance explanations.
    • Maintain audit‑ready working papers and provide clear support for every number.
  • Bank & cash reconciliations (scale + rigor)
    • Own bank and cash reconciliations across 20+ bank/payment accounts (multi‑entity, multi‑currency).
    • Drive open items to resolution quickly; prevent recurring reconciliation breaks through root‑cause fixes.
  • Subscription revenue + rev. rec. workflow (Chargebee → Net Suite)
    • Monitor and resolve subscription revenue flow issues that delay close.
    • Support Net Suite revenue recognition execution and troubleshoot workflow/approval issues that block posting.
  • AP + spend controls (Payhawk → Net Suite)
    • Ensure Payhawk data is clean for close: invoices/receipts captured, correct entity + coding, approvals complete, payment evidence retained, sync exceptions resolved.
    • Enforce and improve the Payhawk submission process and clear expectations across the company.
  • Balance sheet stewardship + reconciliations
    • Own balance sheet integrity for assigned accounts (prepaids, accruals, intercompany, etc.), including aging and follow‑ups.
    • Drive issues to root cause and implement permanent fixes.
  • Build a better finance machine
    • Document SOPs/checklists, tighten controls, and reduce manual work.
    • Partner with Finance leadership to shorten close time and increase confidence in the numbers.
  • Ad‑hoc support
    • Tackle ad‑hoc accounting/finance requests (analysis, audit asks, process cleanups, cross‑functional questions).
    • Support the Accountant in Residence with tax return preparation as needed.
Requirements
  • 5+ years in accounting with real month‑end close ownership.
  • Strong reconciliation and documentation discipline (explain every balance).
  • Experience working in an ERP (Net Suite strongly preferred).
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, remote environment: proactive communication, high ownership, low hand‑holding.
  • Remote‑only: no location restriction; ideal fit works under US Eastern or EMEA timezones.
Bonus Qualifications
  • SaaS subscription billing/revenue exposure (Chargebee experience).
  • AP/spend tooling experience (Payhawk or similar).
  • Multi‑entity / multi‑currency experience.

  • AP and spend processes don’t create surprises at month‑end (coding complete, approvals done, exceptions resolved).
  • System cleanliness improved: cleaner reconciliations, clearer SOPs, faster close.
