Location:
Vancouver, WA 98663;
Remote (primarily Remote with possible quarterly in-person trainings/events). Must live within 2 hours of Portland, OR.

Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Perform a variety of accounting duties to ensure accurate and timely financial statements based on generally accepted accounting practices as well as support Property Management staff through a variety of tasks related to accounting software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
- Tenant ledger analysis
- Review cash receipts for accuracy
- Report violations of internal control policies
- Update property budget templates and upload annual budgets into accounting software
- Review monthly rent charges
- Weekly bank deposits for funds received in Home Office
- General ledger account reconciliation
- Monthly journal entries
- Monthly financial statements
- Assist PM staff with accounting questions
- Assist in audit
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices, mathematical, analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant computer programs;
Microsoft Office, accounting software, and property management software. - Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree specializing in accounting or related field, or equivalent education and experience preferred.
- Preferred experience in similar settings.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly email, Word, and Excel; knowledge of accounting procedures, excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work; attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as emails, financial documents, instructional documents, rental agreements, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. - Reasoning ability:
Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
