Role Overview
The Accounting Manager position is a hands‑on role, responsible for accounting functions for multiple clients that include full‑cycle month‑end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and tax compliance.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general accounting for clients, assisting with the creation of financial statements and management reporting, managing the organization’s cash, and assisting with the creation of departmental budgets and forecasts. Experience with developing and establishing policies and procedures within a corporation is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has worked at or with early‑stage start‑ups.
The position location is flexible/work from home, with preference given to candidates in the following cities where Attivo has an employee presence:
San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, and Boston. Candidates in other locations welcome to apply. Some travel to in‑person company events is required, approximately 2–3 weeks out of the year. In‑person onboarding training will take place within the first 3 months of employment (locations vary).
- Produce monthly financial statements and budget vs actual analysis
- Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients
- Manage Accounts Receivable – invoicing, collections, reviewing contracts
- Manage Accounts Payable – ensuring accurate entry, timely payment, and compliance with company policies
- Process employee onboarding, payroll, and terminations
- Mentor and train future team members
- Solid understanding of GAAP, CPA preferred
- Advanced+ Excel skills
- Experience with standard software solutions:
Quick Books Online, Xero, Net Suite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, Carta - Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Independent judgment and decision‑making
- Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at a time
- Professional curiosity & creativity
- Passionate desire to learn and for continuous improvement
- Experience implementing workflow automation or AI‑enabled tools preferred. Familiarity with generative AI tools and automation platforms strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA is a plus
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience working in a fast‑paced technology, or professional services environment
- Professional integrity

Attivo offers a competitive base plus bonus, and opportunities for advancement. The starting salary range for Accounting Manager is approximately $110,000 to $140,000 per year plus bonus.
