As a Senior JIB Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and transparency across our energy operations. You’ll lead joint interest billing processes, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to strategic financial reporting. This high‑impact role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional eager to drive process improvements and leverage technology in a fast‑paced environment. The position reports to the Operations Accounting Manager and is on a hybrid work schedule (4 days in office and 1 day working from home).

• Execute monthly JIB cycles, including journal entries, cost allocations, and partner invoicing.
• Maintain and update AFEs in the accounting system.
• Serve as the primary contact for partner billing inquiries and issue resolution.
• Support monthly close processes, including LOE and capital accruals.
• Support monthly operations reporting packages and participate in related meetings.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with audit documentation and financial statement support.
• Track and prepare monthly payout statements.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives using tools like Energy Link, Open Invoice, and SQL.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of oil and gas experience, with a focus on JIB and operations.
• Strong understanding of COPAS and operating agreements.
• Advanced Excel skills (logical/lookup formulas, pivots, handling large datasets).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Experience with Energy Link, Open Invoice, SQL, and OGSys.
• Exposure to acquisitions and process development.
• Familiarity with automation tools and digital workflows.
