What We Are Looking For :We are looking for an energetic and diligent Staff Accountant to join our Finance department. Reporting directly to the Controller, the role will support Trade Station's Broker-Dealer and FCM operations, and affiliates. The Staff Accountant's primary responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with the monthly close, financial analysis and regulatory reporting. In addition, the person will assist in providing information to internal and external auditors.
WhatYou'll Be Doing:
- Prepare daily cash reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly financial close
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings
- Assist in the research and resolution of any issues involving accounts, records and reports generated within the department
- Assist with gathering data and information requests in connection with external audits
- Recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate
- Assist with ad-hoc requests
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and organization skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management
- Solid comprehension of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar systems
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products
- Highly motivated, a self- starter and a team player willing to take on new responsibilities
- Ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
- BA/BS in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience required
Qualifications:
- Financial services industry experience is preferred
