About the OrganizationOpportunities for Otsego (OFO) is a federally designated Community Action Agency focused on reducing poverty in Otsego County. OFO provides services, support, and administration across many programs.
Position SummaryAn experienced accountant will perform accounting functions for the Fiscal Team and support grant reimbursement, cost accounting, accounts receivable, monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing, journal entries, and other financial activities. The role requires working autonomously, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with team members.
Salary Range$63,000 - $69,000 annually

- Perform accounting functions related to grant reimbursement submissions, cost accounting, accounts receivable, monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing, and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and requirements of funding sources.
- Review in-kind donation documentation, post qualified contributions to general ledger, and prepare monthly agency donation report.
- Administer agency wide payroll as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of training and work experience.

new graduates willing to be trained are encouraged to apply. - Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles for not-for-profit agencies.
- Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance, proficiency in computer financial applications.
