Accounting Operations (Contractor) Overview
Hopper is hiring a contractor to own our monthly partner billing cycle end‑to‑end and provide broader finance operations support across a 6‑month engagement, with potential extension. This hands‑on, execution‑focused role sits at the intersection of partner relationships, financial operations, and data integrity. It is ideal for someone who thrives on process ownership and can run a tight billing cycle independently.
Responsibilities- Run the full monthly partner billing cycle – gather partner‑specific inputs, generate reports, and coordinate internal review and approval through to close.
- Own partner‑facing communication, including sending billing emails, responding to partner inquiries, and ensuring clear documentation.
- Triage and investigate data discrepancies, resolve independent issues, and escalade pipeline problems with clear reporting.
- Create, issue, and track partner invoices in Net Suite; match POs to invoices and confirm remittances are received and applied.
- Complete vendor and customer setup for new partner onboarding, collecting required documentation, tax forms, and banking details.
- Support month‑end close through account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
- Maintain process documentation and assist with external audit requests as needed.
- Take on ad hoc accounting and finance operations projects as they arise.
- 3+ years in billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations, with a track record of running recurring cycles independently.
- Hands‑on experience with Net Suite AR and billing.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a deadline‑driven monthly cycle without day‑to‑day oversight.
- Clear, professional written communication – acting as the direct point of contact for external partners.
- Methodical reconciliation mindset, comfortable chasing down discrepancies across multiple data sources.
- Familiarity with SQL or Big Query to investigate data questions before escalating (nice to have).
- Experience at a high‑growth technology, marketplace, or travel company (nice to have).
- Knowledge of revenue share, commission, or variable partner billing structures (nice to have).

Contractors will submit invoices and be paid on a monthly basis through Coupa. Note that because this is an independent contractor engagement, the position is not eligible for standard HTS employee perks, healthcare benefits, or equity.
