Our client is a well‑known non‑profit that has been around for almost 100 years. Due to a vacancy, they are hiring a temporary Assistant Controller.

• Position is mostly
  remote
  ; candidates will need to go into the MD or DC office 1x per quarter and as needed.
• Pay: $58-60/hr depending on experience.
• Metro Accessible.
• Duration: contract‑to‑hire, depending on performance, fit, and needs of the business.
• Schedule:
  
  M‑F, 8a‑5p/9a‑6p, 40‑hour work week.

• Review and approve recurring entries.
• Audit.
• 990s and 990‑Ts.
• Oversee AP and Payroll.
• Forecasting and budgeting.
• Maintain internal controls.
• Month‑end close activities.
• Consolidations.
• Reporting.
• Ad hoc projects/reporting.

• Master's in Accounting/Finance or related field is preferred.
• CPA is a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Oracle Fusion and ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus.
• Non‑profit experience is a must.
• Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
