The OpportunityWe are seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant to support our Finance Department in our San Francisco office. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, is highly organized and detail-oriented, and takes pride in providing exceptional internal client service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with generating work-in-process reports, distributing draft bills, and reviewing/revising draft bills
- Assist with processing and submitting client invoices
- Assist with accounts receivable related tasks
- Support accounts payable functions
- Review and track client billing guidelines
- Maintain electronic finance team files
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external parties
- Produce accounting reports and assist with special projects, as needed
- Help maintain accounting controls by documenting and recommending policies and procedures
- Miscellaneous duties as directed by the Finance Manager
- Associate or bachelor's degree in related field is preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Proficient with other Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience using Clio, iManage, or Quick Books is a plus
- Highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented
- Understands how to prioritize competing needs and tasks without compromising quality
- Reliably completes assignments within established deadlines
- Quickly responds to high-priority requests and questions
- Proactive, self-directed and driven to achieve goals
- Prior experience of performing accounting, data entry, or customer service tasks in an office environment is preferred

We are ideally seeking someone who is available to work from the office at least three to four days per week, although those who prefer to work in the office full-time are welcome to do so. Standard business hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The expected annual salary for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. The salary offered will be determined by a range of factors including but not limited to experience level, relevant skills, and location of position. Legal case clerks also are eligible for a discretionary bonus program.
