Interim Senior Accountant
Eden Prairie, MN / Hybrid, 2 days home, 3 days in office
Hourly Pay Range: $65.00 – $75.00

A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced senior accounting contractor to step into a senior-level role with minimal ramp-up. This is a high-impact, short-term engagement (2–3 months) supporting critical financial close, reporting, and compliance activities in a public company environment. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who thrives in fast‑paced environments, operates independently, and collaborates effectively across complex organizations.
The role offers a hybrid schedule with a mix of in‑office and remote work.
- Support monthly and quarterly close processes including journal entries, accruals, and variance analyses
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies
- Analyze balance sheet accounts and maintain compliance with accounting policies
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements in a public company setting
- Partner cross‑functionally with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to understand manufacturing activity and performance drivers
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and auditor requests
- Assist with SOX compliance efforts, including documentation, testing, and evidence preparation
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Contribute to special projects, technical accounting analyses, and ad hoc reporting needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience, preferably Big 4
- Experience supporting public company reporting and compliance requirements
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and close processes
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Manufacturing or industrial industry experience
- Inventory and cost accounting knowledge
- SAP or similar ERP system experience
- Experience with global or multi‑national organizations
- Exposure to SEC reporting and SOX compliance
