Manager, Corporate Accounting

About the Job

As the Manager, Corporate Accounting, you will oversee NCCI's corporate accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information provided to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, auditors, and other stakeholders. This role combines technical accounting expertise, people leadership, financial reporting, and process management.

What You Will Do
  • Corporate Accounting Management: responsible for all aspects of corporate accounting, including development and maintenance of policies, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements; month‑end closings; detailed reconciliations; budget and forecast support; research and implementation of accounting literature and standards.
  • Financial Reporting and Audit Facilitation: coordinate and prepare audited annual report, quarterly unaudited financial statement packages, and facilitate year‑end audit with third‑party accounting firm.
  • Management of Assigned Staff: hire, supervise, and evaluate staff; design organizational structure; set staffing policies; coach; manage compensation and performance; develop work schedules and training programs.
  • Fixed Assets Accounting: review fixed asset accounting prepared by senior analyst.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Five years of corporate accounting experience or three years of audit experience with a Big Four or large public accounting firm.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP requirements.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and disclosure requirements.
  • Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Experience researching and implementing accounting standards.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present accounting conclusions to executive leadership and external auditors.
  • Independent judgment and sound decision‑making; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of people‑management experience or senior/lead role providing feedback.
  • Experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite.
  • Experience coordinating external audits.
  • Technical accounting research experience.
  • Experience preparing GAAP financial statements.
