Free2move, a global mobility company, is looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join the Tunisia Shared Services Center.
Job OverviewAs part of the SSC in Tunisia and reporting directly to the Group Head of Accounting, you will ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the Group's financial statements. You will be responsible for month‑end close, statutory reporting, external audits, and continuous improvement of finance processes.
Responsibilities- General Ledger Accounting & Financial Closings
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process for assigned legal entities.
- Review and post complex accounting entries, including provisions, accruals, prepaid expense, deferred income, payroll entries, tax provisions, depreciation and other closing adjustments.
- Work closely with FP&A and Management Control teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Guarantee the quality and reliability of financial statements.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation items.
- Ensure all accounts are fully substantiated with supporting documentation.
- Monitor account integrity and proactively identify anomalies.
- Intercompany Accounting
- Lead monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Coordinate with international entities to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate elimination of intercompany transactions.
- Audit, Compliance & Financial Governance
- Prepare annual statutory audit files.
- Coordinate external audits with accounting firms and statutory auditors.
- Ensure full compliance with local accounting, tax and legal regulations.
- Act as the main accounting contact for assigned entities during audits.
- Process Improvement & Technical Leadership
- Document and continuously improve accounting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to automate and optimize processes.
- Act as the technical reference for junior General Ledger Accountants.
- Support colleagues in resolving complex accounting issues.
- Contribute to Finance transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Education
- Master's degree (Bac+5) in Accounting, Finance, or Chartered Accountancy.
Experience
- 7 to 10+ years of professional experience in General Ledger Accounting or Financial Accounting.
Preferred background:
- Extensive expertise in General Ledger Accounting.
- Strong experience managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Excellent knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP principles.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong experience with ERP systems, SAP highly preferred.
- Experience in high-volume multinational accounting environments.
- Fluent French (written and spoken).
- Professional English (written and spoken).
- Leadership & Technical Expertise – recognized as a technical expert, coaching less experienced accountants.
- Customer & Service Orientation – comfortable working in an international Shared Services Center supporting multiple countries.
- Organization & Resilience – manage multiple priorities during demanding month‑end and year‑end periods.
- Autonomy & Continuous Improvement – proactive, solution‑oriented, independent, seeks process improvements.
- Collaboration – strong interpersonal communication, collaborates effectively with Treasury, A/P, A/R, Tax, FP&A, Controlling, auditors.
