+ Maintain accurate accounts payable records and ensure timely processing of vendor payments.

+ Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

+ Perform month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, recording accruals, and conducting detailed account analysis.

+ Support the preparation of monthly and periodic financial statements by providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

+ Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

+ Assist in coding and maintaining the chart of accounts, particularly in the context of the current ERP system, to ensure transactions are recorded correctly.

+ Support financial reporting by preparing variance analyses and other analytical reports for leadership.

+ Provide documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors as needed.

+ Collaborate with other members of the accounting team, including the PACE Accounting team, to ensure consistent processes and accurate reporting across multiple subsidiaries.

+ Leverage ERP and Excel tools, including vlookups, to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and improve efficiency in accounting processes.

+ Contribute to the ongoing refinement of accounting procedures related to accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.

Essential Skills

+ At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

+ Hands-on experience with accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and approval workflows.

+ Strong background in bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.

+ Proficiency in month-end accounting processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.

+ Experience working with an ERP system for accounting and financial reporting.

+ Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including the use of vlookups.

+ Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.

+ Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records with attention to detail.

+ Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of invoices and multiple reconciliations.

+ Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support leadership and auditors.

+ Experience working with a newly implemented chart of accounts and helping ensure accurate coding is an advantage.

+ Exposure to payroll systems such as UKG is helpful, even if not a primary responsibility initially.

+ Familiarity with accounts receivable or collections platforms, such as HCHB, is a plus.

+ Experience working on a specialized accounting team, such as a PACE or program-specific team, is beneficial.

+ Ability to thrive in a collaborative accounting team environment and support continuous process improvement.

Work Environment

This role is part of a large accounting function supporting a nationwide organization with approximately 33 subsidiaries, with the Senior Accountant positioned on a PACE Accounting team of three. The team operates within a typical office environment featuring standard cubicles, designed to support focused work and collaboration. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with three days onsite and two days working from home each week, and flexibility to choose which days are in the office or remote.

The accounting team uses Net Suite as its primary ERP system, with a recently implemented chart of accounts that requires careful coding of transactions. Excel is heavily used for reconciliations and analysis, and UKG supports payroll processes, while the organization is transitioning to HCHB for accounts receivable and collections. The culture emphasizes support, approachability, and teamwork, and the office environment is occasionally pet-friendly, with some team members bringing dogs into the office from time to time.
