Join EY’s tax team as a seasonal manager supporting state and local tax services. You will work remotely from within the United States and receive hourly, overtime‑eligible pay while continuing to develop your tax expertise.
The opportunityAt a critical time for our clients, you will leverage your expertise to help support and enhance our tax practices. You will receive remote work flexibility, structured support from experienced colleagues, and the chance to refine your skills in a high‑performing tax environment.
Your key responsibilities- Review state income tax returns and tax notices for accuracy and compliance.
- Discuss and confirm expected hours during the interview process and share availability accordingly.
- Work remotely; no travel required.
- Experience with income franchise (corporate compliance) tax, reviewing corporate extensions, and preparing and reviewing partnership K‑1 statements.
- Experience in state income tax returns and tax notices.
- Comfort working remotely in a virtual team environment.
- Strategic eye for prioritizing multiple complex projects.
- Influencing skills and the confidence and curiosity to question existing processes.
- Ability to produce technical writing and research in a tax context.
- Valid US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state bar membership.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in state income tax within public accounting, industry, or a state entity.
- Professional knowledge of state and local income/franchise tax processes, concepts, and tools.
- A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
- Strong teamwork skills and a genuine passion for tax and its future.
- A quality focus, desire to build meaningful relationships, and ambition to deliver above expectations.
Salary range: $120/hr to $150/hr individual salaries are determined by education, experience, skills, geographic location, and other factors. Benefits include a flexible, inclusive environment, world‑class professional development, and the opportunity to work with globally connected teams.
