As an SEC Reporting Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in our financial reporting team. Your responsibilities will revolve around the preparation of the quarterly financial reporting package, monthly filings, and fulfilling ad hoc requests for our real estate funds. Your expertise with financial statements, 10-Q or 10-K, or footnotes will be highly valuable in this position.
You'll be an essential partner to our auditors, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all financial matters. During month-end and quarter-end reporting, your dedication may require overtime work.
In this position, you'll work closely with a dynamic team of professionals, and your ability to collaborate effectively will be vital. While you'll have the freedom to work independently, your contributions to the broader team's success will be highly appreciated.
- Prepare timely and accurate quarterly and monthly reporting packages, complete with portfolio and financial metrics.
- Ensure the accuracy and promptness of quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Maintain and organize support work papers.
- Coordinate and collaborate with auditors during their reviews and audits.
- Stay updated on accounting standards, summarizing and applying them as needed.
- Help maintain efficient reporting processes and procedures.
- Perform ad hoc reporting as required.
- Take on additional duties or special projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Preferred minimum of 1-3 years of finance/accounting experience.
- Strongly preferred CPA designation, public accounting, or financial reporting experience.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage priorities and projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel and Word application skills.
- A proactive, collaborative problem-solver who is self-motivated and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
- Demonstrated high ethical standards.
- Willingness to take initiative, make informed decisions, and work with minimal supervision.
