The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing key accounting functions, supporting the monthly and annual close processes, overseeing accounts payable and expense management activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial analysis that supports operational and strategic decision-making. This role works closely with the CFO, Accounting leadership, operational leaders, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvement across the organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, payroll, insurance, credit card activity, and other operating expenditures, are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare timely and accurate month-end and year-end journal entries, including accruals, allocations, estimates, intercompany transactions, and eliminations for assigned divisions and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure appropriate resolution of outstanding items.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Billing, and operational teams to ensure proper revenue and expense recognition in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Support year-end close activities and coordinate with external auditors by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to audit requests.
  • Manage the company credit card program, including card administration, transaction coding, policy compliance, expense reporting, and employee support.
  • Oversee accounts payable operations, including vendor setup and management, invoice coding, approval workflows, payment processing, and resolution of vendor inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses for operational leadership and executive management.
  • Partner with the CFO to provide financial analysis, business insights, and recommendations that support sound operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Review financial records, supporting documentation, and processes to ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all internal and external financial reporting obligations and deadlines are met accurately and timely.
  • Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and communicate cost‑saving opportunities, process efficiencies, and financial risks through detailed analysis of operational and financial data.
  • Leverage accounting systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence solutions to improve data integrity, reporting accuracy, and organizational decision‑making capabilities.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and security of financial and business information while safeguarding organizational assets and supporting the company's overall objectives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 2+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and Word
  • Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems;
    Net Suite preferred
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed for time‑sensitive projects
  • Ability to support multiple stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in the face of deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including being an encouraging and supportive team member
