Payroll Administrator
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all university employees. This position ensures payroll operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations and university policies while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of payroll records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Process and administer payroll for faculty, staff, and student employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Maintain payroll records and manage payroll activities including time reporting, deductions, tax with holdings, and payroll reporting in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll-related reports, including payroll accounts reconciled to the general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and assist with required tax filings and year-end reporting (e.g., W-2s).
- Develop, maintain, and improve payroll procedures and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain confidential employee payroll data within payroll systems.
- Serve as the primary contact for payroll inquiries, providing responsive and professional support to employees.
- Collaborate with Finance and Human Resource to ensure accurate employee data, benefits deductions, and payroll reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and payroll systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms).
- Strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience with 2-3 years of payroll related experience
- ADP working knowledge is strongly preferred

Working Conditions:
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
• This is an on-site position designed to foster in-person collaboration. However, we offer flexible work arrangements with options for occasional remote work.
