Dynamic CPA firm in Honolulu, Hawaii, is seeking a skilled Senior Tax Specialist to join their team. The Senior Tax Specialist will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely tax returns for a variety of clients. Remote work options are available, with occasional in-office presence required during peak seasons.

Duties:

• Conduct technical tax preparation and review for a diverse client base, handling complex tax situations.
• Take ownership of tax returns and provide guidance to tax preparers when necessary.
• Demonstrate expertise in advanced tax concepts to offer valuable client advice.
• Manage client interactions, ensuring timely completion of all tasks within budget constraints.
• Oversee tax research projects and government audits, coordinating efficient outcomes.
• Supervise and train tax staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
• Stay informed about tax team qualifications, assigning tasks appropriately based on skill levels.
• Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to junior tax team members for skill development.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Develop, coach, and mentor Semi-seniors and Staff accountants to enhance their skills.
• Participate in performance reviews and evaluations within the Tax Department.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years’ experience in public accounting with a focus on tax services.
• Strong background in preparing C + S corps, partnerships, and individual tax returns.
• Previous supervisory experience overseeing tax preparers is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required;
  Master's degree in taxation is a plus.
• CPA license is preferred to demonstrate professional expertise.
