Remote Accounting Specialist

Role: An Accounting Specialist supporting workforce services, primarily working remotely with weekly in-person visits to a center in Columbus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, payables, payroll, report preparation, and reconciliations.
• Compile, review, and electronically file accounting documents, including invoices, vouchers, and reports.
• Ensure accuracy in documentation, processing of payments, and account reconciliations.
• Support monthly close processes, asset postings, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with funding purchase card reconciliation and local checking account management.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for accounting support and payroll functions.
• Review timekeeping data, secure payroll approvals, and maintain payroll documentation for audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with accounting courses or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year of full-time accounting experience, familiarity with accounting software (Oracle or similar) a plus.
• Strong organizational, Excel, and general ledger skills.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to new applications.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
