Redmont Talent Partners is working with a client seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team for a construction support service industry. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records while supporting strategic financial initiatives. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and other accounting staff to manage the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Lead assigned portions of the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful explanations to management.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities.
- Collaborate with the CFO and Controller to improve financial reporting and internal controls.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with revenue recognition and expense allocation for service-based operations.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Assist with tax filings by providing required financial information to external tax advisors.
- Support implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and financial processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting workflows.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Participate in special projects, financial analyses, and strategic initiatives assigned by the CFO or Controller.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP or cloud-based accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or CPA candidate.
- Public accounting experience.
- Experience in a service-based organization.
- Experience with financial reporting tools and data analytics.

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring regular in-office collaboration in Birmingham, Alabama, with flexibility to work remotely as the team grows. Occasional additional in-office attendance may be required during month-end close, audits, or other critical business periods.
