Role Description The Assurance Consultant is a full-time, hybrid role based in Fond Du Lac, Sheboygan, Madison or Mequon with flexibility for some work from home. This role focuses on providing assurance services, including participating in audits, reviews, and compilations for a diverse portfolio of clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing financial data, testing internal controls, documenting work performed, and preparing clear, accurate work papers and reports in accordance with professional standards.

The Assurance Consultant collaborates closely with clients and internal team members to understand business processes, identify risks, and offer practical recommendations for improvement. The role also involves staying current with relevant accounting and assurance standards, contributing to process enhancements within the firm, and supporting a client-first, community-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting and assurance capabilities, including familiarity with GAAP, audit methodologies, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, accounting software, and collaborative online tools used for client engagements and documentation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Organizational and analytical skills, including attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Ability to work productively in a hybrid environment, demonstrating self-motivation, reliability, and collaboration both in-office and remotely.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; progress toward or possession of a CPA license is strongly preferred.
• Prior public accounting or assurance experience is beneficial, especially with small to mid-sized organizations and mission-driven entities.
