To support a growing eCommerce practice, the full-time Remote Sales Tax Accountant will manage sales tax filings, prepare financial reports, and assist clients with their sales tax inquiries while working remotely from specified states.
Key responsibilities- Prepare and transmit accurate sales and use tax returns to jurisdictions in accordance with client tax calendars
- Conduct state registrations and de-registrations, and reconcile payments made on behalf of clients
- Proactively communicate with clients to resolve sales tax questions and collaborate with the accounting manager
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
- Proficiency with technology and ability to learn new programs quickly
- Experience with Quick Books and knowledge of state and federal sales tax laws is beneficial
- Familiarity with sales tax software (e.g., Avalara, Tax Jar) is a major plus
